Welcome!

You've made it to the Forsyth County Cafe, an extension of our Forsyth Freecycle(TM) Group over on Yahoo!. This website is where members of Freecycle(TM) groups in the Cumming, GA area can share information, post yard sales, items for trade or sale, discuss Freecycle(TM) or simply chat and get to know each other! Just like a café - except without the food and drink! All we ask is that you keep it polite and free of politics, religion, and "adult" topics.

Feel free to:

Share community information. Events (free or charged for), organisations looking for volunteers or members, other community news - all welcome!
Ask for help. If you've got a "How do I?" or a "Where can I find?" sort of question, about recycling, environmental or local issues, then this is the place to seek answers from your helpful and knowledgeable fellow members!
Discuss Freecycle(TM). We welcome all comments, both positive and (constructively!) negative, about the local groups or the concept in general. Feel free to ask questions about how to best use Freecycle(TM). Publicity ideas and offers of help are always very welcome too!

So, why not step in and introduce yourself?

As this website is fairly new, other guidelines may emerge as its use grows. This will be done in consultation with members as much as possible, with the aim of keeping the group friendly and useful! Members' posts are subject to moderation, but membership is not subject to initial approval. We do employ the "3 strikes and you're out" rule.

Looking forward to meeting you! Click here to register for full access to our forum today!

About Freecycle(TM)

The Freecycle Network was started in May 2003 to promote waste reduction in Tucson's downtown and help save desert landscape from being taken over by landfills. Now, the Freecycle Network™ is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up for the Forsyth County Freecycle(TM) group, click here. The Network provides individuals and non-profits an electronic forum to "recycle" unwanted items. One person's trash can truly be another's treasure!

How does it work?

When you want to find a new home for something -- whether it's a chair, a fax machine, piano, or an old door -- you simply send an e-mail offering it to members of the  group. Or, maybe you're looking to acquire something yourself. Simply respond to a member's offer, and you just might get it. After that, it's up to the giver to decide who receives the gift and to set up a pickup time for passing on the treasure.

Our main rule for the Yahoo! Freecycle(TM) Group: Everything posted must be free, legal, and appropriate for all ages.

Tell a friend about Freecycle!
